Moodswings

Funny how small things decide how your day goes.
Consider the scenario.

You wake up on the wrong side of the bed on the wrong time of the day. No, not 1 hour before the alarm shrills(that would be the right time), but rather 6 minutes. Now 6 minutes is not long enough(for some people) to doze off. So taking the less popular option, you are now left with a total of 16 minutes to

1)brush + business + bath
2)iron + dress up
Piece of cake.
Not.

Cause now you realise today, of all days, is your presentation day. But you dont worry because thats what engineering does to you. It teaches you to be calm in a storm. So u improvise and revise the list to

1)dress up
Piece of cake.
Not.

Here is where Murphy's law comes into play. Murphy's law states that within approximately 10-15 minutes of your departure from home, slow cells in your brain which were sacrificed last night(Buffallo theory) will start getting activated and from no where, you will realise that you have bloody well forgotten your id card. But you dont worry because thats what engineering does to you. It teaches you to be calm in a storm. So now while you are riding back to your house, your brain starts scanning for believable excuses that you can get away with for being late, provided the same excuses were not used they day before.

Enter office. You forgive people for staring and glaring at you. You go and sit in your cubicle. You are the king of this cubicle. You can go on looking at the screen and pretend you are the busiest person in the planet without anyone questioning you. So now the only hurdle left is the presentation itself.
Piece of cake.
Not.

You are sitting with your team in the conference room. Its a round table,so naturally it reminds you of King Arthur and his Knights and Excalibur and Natalie Portman topless. You can hear the team speaking, you can see them listening, you can see some people taking down notes. You know you have to do one of the 3 to survive in the corporate world team meeting. So what do you do? Thats right!! You frigging sleep off. Never a better time to make up for those lost 6 minutes.

Sparing the techicalities that followed, you are now on your way back home. Home sweet home, yes, where nothing can go wrong, where you can sleep and watch tv and be sparsely clothed all the time. Nothing can go wrong..unless ofcourse your friends have locked the door and gone out with the key. But you dont worry because thats what engineering does to you. It teaches you to be calm in a storm. You take out your Nokia phone and try to call them. But there is a limit to what engineering teaches you in 4 years. So when you get a heavilly accented female speaking on the other line informing you that your outgoing services have been barred, you lose it.

Expletives censored, you go somewhere where you know you will be calm, where you know your friends will turn up eventually and where you know nothing can go wrong. And it works each and every time. One sip and you are back to "normal".

Fosters- one hell of a mood swinger.

Your day has never felt better. Infact comparitively speaking, today might have been the best day of your life.

Times like these makes you think...why the hell dont i start my day off with fosters?

Not your typical sunday morning..

It could happen to any of us...

"..Police made contact with the neighbor, a 39-year-old man,who told them he heard a woman screaming from upstairs and feared she was being sexually assaulted. The subject said he grabbed the 39-inch sword, went upstairs and kicked in the door to investigate. He repeatedly asked his neighbor "Where is she?" and made him open a closet, and searched the apartment looking for a woman in distress. The victim told his neighbor, and later showed police the evidence, that the noise came from a pornographic movie he was watching..."

Next time on a sunday morning, when u have nothing better do than put your favorite dvd and watch it...it might be fruitful to keep a few things in mind.

1)Neigbourly samurai uncles are a big no-no.

2)Headsets are a yes-yes.

In midst all this, a curious mind has to wonder who the damsel in distress was? Jenna Jameson or Sunny Leone? Purely for research purposes ofcourse

The guys who Matter- part 1 of many

The thing that hurt me most about passing out of school is that i did not have anything much to show for it. Yeah i did have friends and i did have moments with them. But that was the end of that. Just memories... hazy... but still there.

4 years of my college life have gotten over and surprisingly i do have somethings to show for it.

  1. yearbook:- a pretty neat idea. Everyone's info packed into one book. Might i add designed by Saneef
  2. a t-shirt:- a pretty neat idea again. Although i am not entirely sure whether i will actually get one or not since the person in charge of it has become a bit extravagant off late.
  3. my college uniform shirt:- New white shirt man-handled by maniacs with blue/black pen. Apparently everyone has a pretty huge signature and just in case i miss to read the obscentities on the back of my shirt, they have made sure i read it off the front.
For the record i did not write on anyone's shirt. And i considered the possibility that no one would want me to write on their year book. So that pretty much left me with not much options. So here's the first part of a hopefully many-part series. Please note the following points-
  • The list is in random order of weird things entering my mind
  • Most of the humor will be understood only if you know the guy
  • Nicknames are copyrighted

The Guys who Matter-1

Deepak "Whizbox" Prakash
AKA's:- JavaMaster, jxta!, Viper, troubleshooter, panchara beater
From the time i have known him, he has been a walking encyclopedia on Java related topics. Ever since i have been "group studying" with him, i have realised that there is nothing more in this world that he would like more than sleeping. If he has decided to sleep, or if he is already sleeping, it would take a bit more than 8.0 on the richter scale to wake him up. But if u do want to wake him, the following tips might come in handy.
  • use "fix" and "computer" and "troubleshoot" in same sentence.
  • bad mouth java
  • start a sentence with- "Hey /*insert random girls name here*/ looks sexy"
  • visit the site www.orkut.com

Akhil "Jayaraj" Krushnaa
AKA's:- Aki, Akilees, Akiliz, Adonis, Newbie, Newb, Scarfield, Garfield, aewoo, spammer etc etc
Now this is one guy who looks as clueless as you, finds the same dumb things funny just like you, thinks just as dumb like you but be warned... there is a highly efficient brain (with knowledge of all computer languages released so far) behind those blank eyes. Its not his fault they chose to remain off during earthly hours. During exam season there is nothing stopping him from studying except during the time interval of 10:37 pm - 10:54 pm when mysterious things happen to his body. These changes in metamorphism is explained only by what we know as "The zone." The Zone cannot be explained...you would have to see it for yourself.
But here's a hint:- A horse can sleep when it is standing

Sujish " BoOMsLaNg" Babu
AKA's:- Su!,Poooy,What Plans?, mx , newb, noobie, _malum_nahi_
Sui is l337. A conversation with sui can be started quite easily despite what girls might think.
The only thing required is a good knowledge about food and football(default for all guys).
Nothing can wake up sui from his daily ritual of sleeping through the morning...except ofcourse the growl emanating from his own stomach. He is ofcourse the second-best gamer in India in all games..be it CS or AoC.
The fact that he is a blind but die-hard Liverpool fan is the only defect he carries around. Apart from that everyone who has met him will agree - Sui is l3333333t!

Sandeep " BambooBamboo" Menon
AKA's:- Kundan, PC, Menon, Zandy, DPS scandal camera-man, illuminatus, Mongoli
The god of chori and chalus. This guy loves to chori people so much that if he is on his deathbed and he gets one last wish...it would probably be to repeat his infamous bamboo-bamboo "joke".
All things said... there is no one else i would want as a partner in crime. Memorable incidents include interviewing a good-looking female right in front of KR bakes claiming to be conducting a survey for Varkeys, stalking 2 girls from Choice school until they told us their names.. and many many more. Anyone who knows him does realise the difference between 90% and 100%. He strives to get the best out of everybody. One of his hiddent talents is to be able to recreate a MMS scandal. I have known him for a long time...6 years.. and because of that i know the bamboo joke by-heart. But whatever the case Sandeep, you can be my wingman anyday.

Entremaneur

Entremaneur - Pronunciation Key(ón-trâ-mâ-nûr, -nõõr) Noun
Someone who makes a living selling bullshit to the masses.

Well it wont be all BS all the time...neither will it be no BS all the time. Kinda midway-Mostly BS most of the time.

The reasons why i have decided to blog:-

  1. New craze in college! Few of my batchmates are now fellow entremaneurs and i cant let them have all the fun all alone.
  2. So much creativity...there must be an outlet! Please dont replace creativity with bs.
  3. Test of will- to see whether i can really be consistent atleast once in my life.
  4. The possibility of reaching out to the masses, hopefully find a few who have the same views and killing the rest.
  5. Last but not the least. The biggest factor of them all:- Boredom
With these few words i am starting a journey which i hope lasts longer than my other forgettable endeavours. Well Wishers hop on.
"the journey is the reward"- from some forward i accidently clicked open
